Where we come from
Born from the vision of Georges Salomon, the Foundation carries forward a 27-year commitment: unlocking human potential through mountain sports.
In 1999, when Georges Salomon sold his company, he made a promise: to give back to the mountains everything they had given him. The Salomon Foundation was born a quiet, steady force supporting mountain professionals through injury, hardship and life’s steepest turns.
For over 25 years, we’ve stood by guides, ski instructors, refuge keepers and athletes. More than 450 people supported. More than 1.6 million euros distributed. Not as charity, but as a commitment side by side, on the long path.
In 2023, we opened a new chapter. We extended our reach to organisations worldwide that use outdoor sports to fight every form of exclusion. Same values, wider horizons.
What we believe
Our story begins in the mountains.

We’ve seen what they give, and what they take.
But we’ve also seen something else.
