Who they are
Yambi supports refugees and displaced people by using the mountains as a space for connection, rebuilding, and new perspectives. Through outdoor activities, the association fosters social bonds and helps each person regain a sense of place, rhythm, and momentum. It also works on language learning, a key element in overcoming isolation and integrating into a new environment. Socio-professional support further strengthens these pathways, enabling participants to shape their future and become active members of their host communities. Deeply aware of environmental challenges, Yambi embeds its actions in a respectful and conscious relationship with nature. Each outing becomes a space for sharing, growth, and transformation, where meaningful and lasting human experiences take shape.
Testimony
“Our first meeting with Jean and the Salomon Foundation was rooted in shared values: a love for the mountains, movement, and a belief that access to nature should be open to all. A genuine connection quickly formed.
Since then, the relationship has grown into a strong collaboration based on trust, listening, and a shared desire to create together. It has enabled us to develop meaningful projects and offer hundreds of young people powerful outdoor experiences.
These moments in the mountains support their rebuilding, confidence, and ability to look ahead. We are deeply grateful for this long-term collaboration, both human and collective.”
