Who they are
Founded in 2020, ChangeTheGame works to combat violence in the sports environment. The organization collaborates with major institutions (FIGC, FIFA, Sapienza University of Rome, and the University of Milan) and co-developed, with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Milan, a protocol to improve transparency.
It leads prevention initiatives, produces awareness content (podcast, theatrical performance, award-winning film), and conducted the first published scientific study on the impact of violence in sports.
ChangeTheGame also contributed to drafting the Italian law on the protection of athletes, in force since 2021. Its president, Daniela Simonetti, has received several national and international awards for her work.

Our first meeting was with Ilaria Cestonaro, and we immediately felt a strong connection. We then created a tailor-made project for women runners, inspired by the experience of Ivana Di Martino, who was assaulted in Milan in 2014.
